Affirm Me Day 30

Ephesians 4:32

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

As a leader in the church and many other capacities, I have learnt that some people dread the realities of paradigm shifts.

You see, we are prone to vengeance and like Jonah, would rather see or hear that those who would have successful gain a spot in our black books receive our idea of a just reward. Anything other than our ideas irritates us to even being upset with God.

It is hardly likely that you have not had a pretty plausible reason to withhold the gift of forgiveness from those who have wounded, disregarded, disrespected, disappointed, violated, abused and trespassed against you.

Yet, the Spirit of the Lord calls out to you today asking you to forgive them. It is not about letting them go; it’s about letting you go. Forgive frees you more than it does others.

A paradigm shift stands the chance to be history in the making. You might have to do what you have never done before.

They have had no right to have treated you the way they did. Take a seat for the game changer. You do not have that right either to treat you the way you have been doing.

Why is it so important that you hold on to offenses and take them with you whithersoever thou goest!

Matthew 6 sets the principle of forgiveness in motion. This is it. Forgive us…as we forgive.

Come, let us cast offenses into the sea.

Lay your hand on yourself today as we pray.

Lord, I have always known that I should do unto others as I would want them to do to me. The truth is, I’ve not always observed this. As a result, I have sown seed that I have reaped. Help , me today, Lord.

Deliver me from every brutal tendency and show me how to be kind to others. Teach me to be tender-hearted and to forgive others because Christ, My Lord, has forgiven me.

Amen.

Affirm Me Day 29

Paradigm Shift

Psalms 23:2

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

OMG! It’s twenty-nine days already. We have just about two more days left on this journey. Well, well, to God be all the glory.

For a few days now I have been mentioning the term paradigm shift. Let us take a closer look at it today.

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines a paradigm shift to be an important change that happens when the usual way of thinking about or doing something is replaced by a new and different way. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/paradigm%20shift

We all experience paradigm shifts of one magnitude or the other. Children are included in the set. Though paradigm shifts are so common, many persons are unaware of them occurring in their lives.

Paradigm shifts can affect us negatively and positively. Here are a few questions for you.

  • Are you able to recognise when paradigm shifts are occurring in your children’s lives?
  • Are you aware that paradigm shifts can be difficult to maneuver?
  • Do you know that your children need your support when they are going through these shifts?

Children experience paradigm shifts in a number of ways. Here are a few examples.

  • when parents are experiencing conflicts
  • when parents divorce
  • when parents exhibit stress and strain due to lack, sickness, limitations of whatever nature,
  • when they change grades whether it is a promotion or a demotion,
  • when they change school,
  • when they have a new teacher, friend, stepparent, pastor, neighbour or even a new nanny,
  • holidays,
  • When they are being filed for,
  • We they reach pubescence.
  • when additional persons are in their homes,
  • when persons leave the home for work, school or through migration.
  • when a new child is born,
  • when parents change or lose jobs, etc.

Let us Pray

Father, help us as parents to be present-minded to our children.

Grant us, Dear Jesus, a decerning spirit, keen eyes and hearts of compassion. Amen

Affirm Me Day 28

1 Timothy 6:18

That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
1 Timothy 6:19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

I cannot help myself these day but to be thankful. Before we go on, what can you thank God for?

Lift your gaze because around us we see sicknesses of every sort; lack; violence; creative wickedness; distress, but when we embrace our paradigm shifts and behold the things above we will see victory; we will see that no weapon formed against us will prosper; we will see that we are the head and not the tail; we will see that we are more than conquerors and that His grace is sufficient.

A paradigm shift of the sort will cause us to see things differently and spur us to be thankful when it seems that nothing is going on in our favour.

I am super thankful for this journey. Are you?

The chosen scripture for today will be our prayer focus.

Let us pray.

Father, in the name of Jesus, we come to You. I pray that my children and I will do good and be rich in good works.

We will be ready and happy to give and to share our space, our wisdom, our time, our wealth and all that You have blessed us with.

Help us to constantly remember that by doing this, we are saving up treasures for ourselves which will be a strong foundation on which to build our future.

We desire to live life that is true life, Amen.

Affirm Me Day 27

Thank You, Jesus!

This scripture is capable of unlimited applications. Today, let us see together that delight in the Lord is a strong refuge.

Of course, you will experience difficult and unpleasant times. Some of these seasons may even be sustained, yet we will break forth like the dawn because our gaze is fixed on what is happening around God.

We know that weeping endures for a night but joy is certain in the morning. Hallelujah!

We, therefore, we will count it all joy when we fall into temptation because we know that in Christ we are overcomers. Take a moment and listen to this song. Click on the link below.

It is important for you and your children to experience the joy of the Lord. It is His delight that we function in that strength that is ours when we delight in Him.

Read His Word; read it out loud at times and unlock divine strength.

Today’s declaration

I am full of joy, joy that is far beyond temperament.

God’s plan for me and my children are good and not evil.

He will lead us into paths of righteousness and victory.

We are destined for greatness!

We are about to experience a paradigm shift.

This shift in paradigm will change the way we see, the way we act, and the way we go.

Thank you, Lord. We are strong because of You! The flood waters will not overtake us nor will the fire burn us.

Amen.

Affirm Me Day 26

Social Expectation

Colossians 3:2

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

20180523_105037_00011241584400.png

Help me find the parent who has never been bitten by the bug of social expectation. Until then, let me ask. ” How many more bites will you endure?”

Social expectation can ruin us and our children alike. Lord, help us! Fitting our children into social molds can be brutal and we can only escape this mode of slavery by setting our eyes on what is happening around God. We are eternal beings. We can spend so much time on the here and now that we forget to prepare ourselves and our children for the real deal- eternity.

Today, go aside and assess the impact of social expectation on the way you have raised your children and even the way you have been conditioned. Have you spent that much time and interest in gospel pleading?

What could the road ahead look like for you?

Take up your Bible and pray out as many verses of Psalm 46 as you like.

Have a great day. See you tomorrow.

Affirm Me Day 25

Thank You, Jesus! What a journey it has been to this point!

Certainly, I have become a better parent. How has it been for you?

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Parental internal insecurities are real and invade the best of us regardless of our fortified parental structures.

Yes, our feelings of worth may be too attached to our children’s performances one way or another. For some of us, it is quite obvious while for others it is entrenched in the subconscious.

We must find other sources of security and the best of them all are the lifelines available in the scriptures.

Today’s scripture is just one of them.

Let us pray.

Wow,God!

Today I am casting all my cares- that is- all my anxieties, all my worries and concerns on You once and for all.

I repent for every lack of humilty that I have entertained and displayed in hanging on to my cares as premiums.

Today I choose to humble myself under Your might hand that in due season you will honour and exalt me.

Hallelujah!

My life and that of my children are entrusted to my Faithful Creator. Amen

I appreciate you checking in today. Have a care-free day.

Affirm Me Day 24

Matthew 6:22

“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.”

Let us pray.

Sovereign King, Ruler and Creator of the universe, You are above all. You continue to awe us with Your majesty and magnificence.

Our eyes remind us that we are more than physical beings. The fact that, of all the things to see, we can only see wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation between approximately 380 and 760 nanometers which is light.

We thank you for the ability to see beyond natural realities and to see the realities of the Spirit. You have so enabled us to see beyond the natural realities. We tap into that frequency now and see what You see for us and for our children.

Yes, Lord, we will see the way of escape that You have already set for us to prevent us from being trapped by the forces of darkness.

We lift our eyes to the hills and look down our generational line and cancel, by the blood of Jesus, every accursed transaction.

We rebuke the devourer from our bloodline, our financial line, our integrity line, our social climate line, our academic line and our creativity line , in the name of Jesus. Amen
