Affirm Me Day 21

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”

Galatians 5:22-23

God of Mercy and Grace, I love you. I thank you for the gift of a brand new day filled with new opportunities to love and serve to bring you glory.

I have read the verse above and now pray that the fruit of the Spirit will be evident in my life and the lives of my children, their schoolmates, colleagues, co-workers, friends, and spouses.

Cause us all to be filled to the overflow with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Amen

Thanks for reading. See you tomorrow.

Affirm Me Day 20

“For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.”

Psalm 5:12

Hallelujah! What an assurance this Bible verse provides. Would you help your children to memorise it today?

We exist in a time and place where it is so obvious that getting by depends on your connections- those you know or by whom you are known.

Well, what a blessing it is to be known by the Everlasting God, who fainteth not neither is weary!

Our children are surrounded with favour as with a shield. Hallelujah! They will never need backdoor deals. It is the Lord who will open and close doors on their behalf.

Thank You, Lord. You sit in the heavens and look low. You are intimately involved in the affairs of my children.

You establish and order their steps. You will make a way when it seems as though there is no way. You are the Way Maker, the Promise Keeper, and their Help.

Amen.

Thanks for your time. Jabneh Christian Academy wishes for you a happy Sunday.

See you again in a few hours

Affirm Me Day 19

Psalm 118:5

I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.

Jesus, our Advocate, Deliverer and Just Judge, we exalt You today.

Grateful we are that You have set us free. You have paid the price for my children’s freedom. Thank You, Lord.

Help them to know, believe and walk in this reality, Lord.

Put it in their hearts and write it on their minds.

My children will walk in freedom because they seek and will continuously seek out Your principles.

Your instructions will instruct them in the way they should go.

Give me the insight to guide my children to exercise this freedom.

May my parenting style and my influence on my children not restrain them but cause them to be untrammeled.

God, My Deliverer, break my children free from every situation that they are now involved in whether overtly or covertly that will prevent them from being unfettered, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Affirm Me Day 18

Aha! Today is National Child’s Day in Jamaica. I couldn’t be more excited. Today we celebrate Jamaica’s future. With the journey we have been on these 18 days, in addition to what we have been doing before, without doubt, Jamaica will be in better hands. Joy will come in the morning! A praise break is necessary right here.

Join me and let us make some declarations about our nation’s children today. Our children alone cannot do what must be done in Jamaica. We need all the children.

Jehovah God, Sovereign King, and Friend of Little Children, we join you in exuberant joy for our nation’s children.

We declare that you will dwell in their hearts by faith and that they will be rooted and grounded in love.

We know that no weapon that is formed against them will prosper.

We thank You that their righteousness is of You and they will be able to condemn every maligning, discriminating, accusing and bitter tongue.

Truth and victory belong to them and their eyes are fixed on those things that are eternal.

Oh yes, Lord, great will be their peace because they will be taught by You.

Satisfy them with long life and show them your salvation.

Our souls magnify You , oh Lord, and our spirits praise Your name.

You are the Sovereign Ruler.

Your throne is from generation to generation. You rule over all!

Amen

Affirm Me Day 17

Can Mindsets Change?

Mindsets can be shifted and be shifted quickly too. Since you have started reading these blogs some of your beliefs have been altered somewhat. Should you spend much time conversing with me, your mindset about your children’s ability and educational trajectory will shift.

Likewise, your children can develop a positive mindset. The truth is, they need to develop a positive mindset. This is required for finishing well.

Here are a few ways to develop a growth mindset.

https://www.opencolleges.edu.au/informed/features/develop-a-growth-mindset/

Go all the way to the bottom of the article until you see the heading “25 Ways to Develop a Growth Mindset”.

Affirm Me Day 16

I trust that you were able to complete the mindset test yesterday as well as your children. If not, it takes just a few minutes. You could try it now. The information will help you to be better able to follow me today.

According to Carl Dweck, children with fixed mindset find it most challenging to respond to failure or challenges in healthy ways. They will more likely resort to self-defeating strategies. They may also believe that they are defined by occurrences.

On the other hand, children with growth mindset see challenges and failures as fertile soil to evolve and or to unearth latent potential. Challenges and failures are transformed into opportunities. They will know that “in all these things, they are more than conquerors” rather than retreating into the dark alley of self-destruction and negative self-talk.

It is true that we, as well as our offsprings, need to have the mind of Christ and employ it in every area of our lives.

Understanding that through Christ Jesus we can do all things is a positive mindset. It will cause us to try until success is realised.

Hmmmm!

Today you will choose the task for your children as you listen to what the Lord is saying to you.

See you tomorrow for the continuation.

Invite a friend to check out these blogs. Thanks

Affirm Me Day 15

Today we intend to build on the foundation laid yesterday. Take this walk with me, please.

Endurance requires that we deal with trials and tribulations in healthy ways. Our mindset comes into sharp focus at this juncture.

What is a mindset?

“A mindset is a belief that orients the way we handle situations- the way we sort out what is going on and what should be done.” Psychology Today

What type of mindset do you have? What type of mindset have your children? You could take the mindset test at

https://www.mindsetonline.com/testyourmindset/step1.php

Your children could do the test too.

Our mindset is integral in helping us to identify opportunities. On the other hand, mindset can also trap us and cause us to function in cycles that are self -defeating.

I am saying that challenging situations can become opportunities. It is as the result of challenging situations that some of us found our life’s passion, career, calling, ministry and even business opportunities. It must be noted keenly that similar challenging situations have caused others to lose hope, lost their minds, lose direction and their sense of self even to the point of committing suicide.

How our children will persevere depends greatly on their mindset.

Tasks

Look at the result of the mindset test that you and your children did. Whatever the result is commit it to the Lord.

Pray for your children. Cry out to God on their behalf today.

Pray that they will not be defeated by trial and obstacles but will use them as stepping stones.

Hug them and prophesy the Word of God over them as it is written in Philippians 4:13 … Can do all things through Christ who strengthens them.

This Friday, May 18th will be celebrated in Jamaica as National Child’s Day. Make an investment into your children. Get them gifts that will affirm them.

Have a productive day .

Affirm Me Day 14

Endurance

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

The world is so much bigger than our homes, yet, in our homes, there may be obstacles, difficulties, trials and tribulations for us as well as for our children.  Since endurance leads to growth in hope and character, as adults we need to model this value in our environment for our children to emulate.

We have many or maybe too many testimonies of moments when we did not endure unpleasant moments and or difficult circumstances got the better of us.  It begs us to sympathise with each other since we might not have learnt how to persevere.  With that said, we want our children to develop the tenacity to outlast challenges.

We could begin by teaching our children to memorise Philippians 4:13.  Today is a good day to read the affirmation on page 29 in  Affirmation for Values and Character Development by Tanisha Graham with your children.

See you tomorrow.

Glam-moms

Proverbs 11:16

“A kindhearted woman gains respect…”

Being a woman is such an exciting thing. When we were little girls we probably would have engaged in role-plays being a woman too many times to remember until we achieved the status.

When we got there we realised that there was yet another journey-motherhood.

I may not be the first to congratulate you today on being a mother, however, I am honoured to do it just the same. CONGRATULATION!

The scripture above highlights that you are a woman of grace, favour and charm. How sweet! Above all, you are a mother.

I declare God’s continued blessing on you. You will enjoy the fruit of your labour. God’s got you.

Have an amazing day.
