A sunbeam is a ray of sunlight that emanates from the sun. Malachi 4:2 states “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings…”

Jesus is the Sun of Righteousness, the source of life and power in the earth.  Our children can be His sunbeams. Yes, they can shine the light of Jesus Christ through their own lives, in this unprecedented darkness.

How will this happen?

Parents, Christian leaders, schools – especially Christian schools should realise that each child has an immortal soul and needs to experience salvation, that is, a relationship with God.  This really is not as difficult as we think.  Most of us have successfully aided our children to have lasting relationships with cartoon characters and television personalities.  We can, therefore, utilise some of those very strategies to instruct our children to trust Christ as Saviour. Children can savingly believe the gospel.

Let us not be like the disciples who rebuked those who brought their children to Christ.  They thought the children were not old enough to be brought to Christ.  “When Jesus saw what was happening, He was angry with His disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Do not stop them!  For the kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these Children.” Mark 10:14 NLT

God wants your child for His sunbeam. Will you let him/her?

We were absolutely privileged to see all three leading the nation’s children in a session on TVJ promoting healthy lifestyle, Tuesday, June16, 2020.

Thanks Auntie Den, Past student Lashante and Ajahne, a current student who is has also won a gold medal for team Jamaica at the World Championships of Performance Arts in California, 2018.

Standardized test results are just a small fraction of students abilities.

Let students be.

May I provoke you for a moment? How many subjects, courses and even degrees you have had and are not using or may have never used since you finished the examinations?

What are you doing now that that is linked to the impacts of standardized tests?

If your time was better shared at developing other areas of your life would you be happier today?

Father, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, we come boldly to Thy throne of grace to present our children to you on this day that has been set aside to honour them nationally.

Lord, this year in particular, we are aware that our children have more need of You than we can fathom.

We are also aware that we can not help them sufficiently without You helping us and guiding us.

Anxiety parades in homes like precious stones at this time causing a dire need for peace. We call on You, the Prince of Peace to grant them the peace that passes all understanding.

Lack has been more prolific than before. We need You, Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, to provide for all the needs of our nation’s children at this time.

We anticipate the manifestation of Zechariah 8:5 which says,

And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing there.”

Yes, Lord, we anticipate a turn around as we look to You.

Protect them like only You can. We take our rest in the assurance given in Your Word that all our children shall be taught by the Lord, and that great will be their peace.

Amen

This plant grows on the campus and was not visible for awhile resulting from how dry it was just after COVID-19 visited our island.

The last two weeks have been rainy causing the plant to return to it’s former glory.

We are encouraged by the transformation that has taken place in this plant. Given the right conditions, we will bloom again.

Therefore, we remain still as we wait on God.

This too shall pass.
